Tomorrow's horoscope for every sign

Pick Western (your Sun sign, tropical zodiac) or Vedic (your Moon sign or rashi, sidereal zodiac) above. Not sure of your rashi? Find it on the astrology page.

Horoscopes here are built from one real, checkable fact — which sign the Moon is in — and the traditional meaning of the house it falls in for each sign. They are offered for culture and fun. There is no scientific evidence that the Moon's position shapes your day.

How these horoscopes are made

Most daily horoscopes are written by hand, and many are recycled. These are not: each one starts from the Moon's actual position, calculated for tomorrow from the same astronomical formulas this site uses for moon phases. The Moon is the fastest-moving body astrologers use — it changes sign about every two and a half days — which is why both Western and Indian traditions use it for day-to-day readings.

For each sign we count which house the Moon falls in, taking your sign as the first house (the "whole-sign" or "Chandra lagna" method). The Moon passing your 11th house is traditionally the most helpful of the month; passing your 8th — Chandrashtama in Tamil and Telugu almanacs — the most testing. The text for each house follows its classical meaning: the 2nd is money and family, the 7th partners, the 10th work, and so on.

Western or Vedic? Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, tied to the seasons; Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac, tied to the stars. Today the two are about 24° apart, so the Moon is often in different signs in each system. Western readers usually go by their Sun sign; Indian readers by their Moon sign (rashi). The astrology guide explains why.

Frequently asked questions

What is my horoscope for tomorrow?

Find your sign in the grid above. Choose Western if you go by your Sun sign (the usual magazine sign) or Vedic if you go by your rashi (Moon sign). Each reading is based on which of your houses the Moon passes through tomorrow.

What is Chandrashtama?

Chandrashtama (Chandrashtamam) is the period of about two and a half days each month when the Moon passes through the 8th sign from your natal Moon sign. Indian almanacs advise avoiding major decisions then. The panel at the top shows which rashi has Chandrashtama tomorrow.

Why do Western and Vedic horoscopes give different signs?

They use different zodiacs. The tropical zodiac starts at the March equinox; the sidereal zodiac is fixed to the stars. Because of the slow wobble of Earth's axis, the two have drifted about 24° apart, nearly a whole sign.

How often does the Moon change sign?

About every 2¼ to 2¾ days, so roughly twelve or thirteen times a month. If the Moon changes sign during tomorrow, the reading says at what time.

Are horoscopes scientifically accurate?

No controlled study has found that horoscopes predict events or personality better than chance. We present them as tradition and entertainment, built on an accurate calculation of where the Moon really is.
