Hong Kong Calendar

Hong Kong uses Hong Kong Time (UTC+8) year-round with no daylight saving. Its 17 general holidays blend Chinese lunar festivals — Lunar New Year, Ching Ming, Tuen Ng, Mid-Autumn and Chung Yeung — with Christian holidays from its colonial past and civic dates like HKSAR Establishment Day.

These are the general holidays gazetted by the HKSAR Government, when banks, schools and government offices close. When a holiday falls on a Sunday (or two coincide), the following day becomes the holiday — which is why several entries read 'The day following…'. Statutory holidays under the Employment Ordinance are a slightly different list.
