Nepal Calendar

Nepal runs on Nepal Time (UTC+5:45) — one of the few time zones offset by 45 minutes — with no daylight saving. Official life follows the Bikram Sambat (BS) calendar, roughly 56–57 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar, whose new year falls in mid-April. Saturday is the weekly holiday, and the working week runs Sunday to Friday.

Holidays are announced each year by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the BS year, and most festivals — Dashain, Tihar, Shivaratri and others — follow the lunar calendar. Only nationwide public holidays are shown here; many further days apply only to certain regions, communities or groups (such as women employees), and Eid dates depend on moon sighting.
