South Korea Calendar

South Korea uses Korea Standard Time (UTC+9) year-round with no daylight saving. Alongside fixed-date civic holidays, Seollal (Lunar New Year), Buddha's Birthday and Chuseok follow the Korean lunisolar calendar, and a 'substitute holiday' (daeche gonghyuil) rule shifts many — though not all — holidays to the next working day when they land on a weekend.

Labour Day (1 May) is a paid day off under the Labor Standards Act for wage workers, but isn't one of the designated public holidays that close government offices and schools. Independence Movement Day, Liberation Day, National Foundation Day, Hangeul Day, Children's Day, Buddha's Birthday, Christmas, Seollal and Chuseok all get a substitute holiday when they fall on a weekend; New Year's Day, Memorial Day and Constitution Day do not.
